The pathway to a life of anointing in the Spirit is the pursuit of continual hiddenness with the Lord. This hidden life in God means ultimate death to soulish and fleshly motivations. It means doing what we do for no other reason than to please God and obey His will. The source of all strength, significance and spiritual power comes from a history of seeking God in "the secret place." It is a personal, intimate relationship with the Almighty that imparts wisdom, character and motivation to a special group of individuals, "a hidden people."
Please read in Matthew chapter 6 verses 1-6 and verses 16-18 the passage.
Hidden ones stay away from the limelight. Because hidden ones are not trying to be seen, most people never know that they are those who make the church successful. Most people have no idea that these handle the important assignments in the Kingdom of God. Hidden ones have the anointing and spiritual authority because they get the work done well without needing any recognition. They are confident in who they are and in he whom they serve.
While many are looking for career positions or promotions in ministry, hidden ones are looking to please the Lord. The end-time people of God must develop a history of hiddenness in Him or they will go the way of the world's system. "That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit" (John 3:6).
A primary characteristic of hiddenness is servanthood. God gives a special anointing to those who are dedicated to serving others. The word minister literally means "one who serves." There is no higher calling than to be a servant. Because of some title or position they think they no longer need to "waste" their time helping unimportant people. But Jesus never thought anyone for whom He died was unimportant. He doesn't think of serving as a temporary hardship to be resigned once a higher status is achieved. Jesus said, "Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; and whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many" (Matthew 20:25-28).
A second characteristic of a hidden people is a history of devotional prayer and intercession. The literal place of hiddenness comes as a result of communication with the Lord, both in personal prayer and in intercession for others. The life of an intercessor is a life of spiritual warfare. Prayer is where the battle is won or lost.
A hidden people accomplish their assignments from the Lord in prayer before presuming to know how to accomplish them in their natural strength. This means their work's success or failure is based simply upon the answers to prayer. Because of the faithfulness and humility of their prayers, God uses them as a vehicle to bring His will to pass in this earth.
God is bringing hidden people out of the prayer closets of life. They have been with Jesus and experiences His presence. They know Him, and because they have been fellowshipping with Him, they beautiful character of the Lord has been developed in them.
Jesus Christ was the perfect Intercessor on this earth. In fact, He still lives to make intercession for in Heaven. His death on the cross was the highest act on intercession ever accomplished.
Intercession is more than words. As the Scripture says, "The kingdom of God is not in word, but in power" (1 Corinthians 4:20). An individual who desires to be an ambassador of Christ, reconciling the world to God, will experience a tremendous anointing.
A third characteristic of hiddenness is that of forgiveness or graciousness. when we become hidden in God and dead to self, we are no longer "touchy." It someone rubs us the wrong way, we don't lose our salvation. People can stomp on us and run over us and it doesn't matter. you can't offend a dead man. Dean men don't care if they get their own way, as long as God gets His.
Those walking in the power of forgiveness will be walking in the power of the anointing. The way God has chosen to heal and deliver the human race is through forgiveness. Without this aspect of hiddenness in our lives, the world will never know the true character of the Savior or the good news of salvation.
A fourth characteristic of a hidden person is that of compassion. Compassion is foundational, affecting all of our motivations and decisions. Compassion comes from a life of hidden fellowship and communion with the Father. When we experience His love and forgiveness we can then demonstrate it to others.
1 John 4:20, 21 "If a man say, I love God and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? and this commandment have we from him, that he who loveth God love his brother also."
The hidden ones have spent time with God, getting to know Him and experiencing His love so that they can love their brothers. Loving and knowing God through relationship is the only way we can be anointed to love others.
Colossians 3:3 "For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God."
The measure of our hiddenness will be revealed by our humility. this will cause us to do what God wants us to do when and how God wants us to do it. We will be hidden by representing the authority of the Lord rather than by substituting our own way of doing things for His ways. when we choose to do things our own way, we are no longer hidden with His wisdom and glory.
Jeremiah 9:23 "Thus saith the Lord, let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches."
Pride is a terrible thing. It is a destroyer of the soul. God is looking for a humble people who recognize their constant need of Him. A precious anointing awaits a hidden and humble people.
